Windy Wellington is living up to its name today...airport is reporting force 7 (52 km/h), but from the gusts that we're receiving here on Geekflat Hill I'd imagine that it's up to gale force 8. I suspect I will have to get my hands on an anemometer.
Edited to add: MetService says gusts to 76km/h in the last ten minutes -- that's "strong gale 9". Awesome.
The Harbour's pretty today too -- lots of whitecaps, the new Bluebridge ferry doing what I assume are testing manoeuvres, and this car carrier making its way outwards. I can't imagine that it's all that much fun trying to drive this thing around in the wind, especially since it doesn't look like it's all that heavily loaded.
